What do these pictures represent?
A truly wasteful, uncaring society, Americans in particular I think
like to pretend that we have no real impact on the world and try not
to think about the consequences of what we do.
What do these images convey to us?
Perhaps some warning as to the consequences of what we are doing to
waste our world's resources.
How are these images supposed to make us feel?
Angry, concerned, and a little scared would be my guess. They would
all seem like appropriate emotions to me.
Why do you think that the artist chose to create these photographs?
Probably out of concern for the environment or concern for the city of
New Orleans which continues to sit and rot.
How hard do you think it was to create these photos?
Not as hard as you would probably think.
I thought the picture of the cell phones was pretty interesting. I
remember in the early 90's every body had to have a pager, and nobody
could remember how they ever got by without one. Now, everyone has a
cell phone, and life is just not complete without it. But unlike
pagers, lots of people replace their cell phones after only two years,
because some new phone can take pictures or email or microwave
something. You would think that people would think about how much
money they would save, but obviously not.
